Biography: Artist.Ai Hasegawa uses issues in biology and advances in science and technology as motifs in her works to unearth the various problems latent in contemporary society.She moved to the United Kingdom after graduating from the Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences (IAMAS), where sheearned a Master of Arts from the Royal College of Art in 2012.Hasegawa received her Master of Science from the MIT Media Lab in 2016.She served as a specially appointed Project Researcher at the University of Tokyo from 2017–20,a part-time lecturer at Waseda University from 2019–21,and a specially appointed researcher at Jichi Medical University and Kyoto Institute of Technology from 2020–2022.She was appointed Project Professor in 2022. Her work “(Im)possible Baby, Case 01: Asako & Moriga” won an Excellence Award at the 19th Japan Media Arts Festival.She has exhibited at the Mori Art Museum, Ars Electronica, MoMA, and many other venues in Japan and abroad.She is the author of REVOLUTIONARY 20XX! : Speculative Design Tool Kit for Beginners.
